GMDC, Diblong

The Government Model Degree College in Diblong was established by the Government of Assam to promote higher education for the people of Dima Hasao. Located in the village of Diblong near Hatikhali in Dima Hasao district, the college is approximately 92 km from the district headquarters in Haflong and around 27 km from Lumding in Hojai district. The foundation stone of the college was laid on November 8, 2020, by Debolal Garlosa, Chief Executive Member of the NC Hills Autonomous Council, along with Nandita Garlosa, Executive Member and in charge of higher education, NC Hills Autonomous Council. Since its inception, the college has been mentored by Maibang Degree College, Maibang. Faculty members across various departments were appointed by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Assam, in July 2023.
