Dear Students, Faculty, and Community Members,
It is with immense pride and joy that I welcome you to Government Model Degree College, Diblong, a promising new institution established in 2023 under the Pradhan Mantri Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA). Located in the serene hill district of Dima Hasao, Assam, our college stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for quality higher education in the region. Our establishment marks a significant milestone in the journey to make higher education accessible to students in remote and underserved areas of Assam, enhancing the state’s educational infrastructure and paving the way for academic growth and empowerment.
With the creation of 18 teaching posts across six core disciplines—Assamese, English, Education, Economics, History, and Political Science—the college launched its first academic session for 2023-2024. While the journey has begun, we are awaiting the finalization of the Principal, Librarian, and non-teaching staff positions, which are expected to be completed soon.
In this initial phase, due to infrastructure development, we are grateful to Maibang Degree College for hosting our classes temporarily. We anticipate relocating to our own campus by early 2025, where students and faculty will have access to facilities tailored to their academic needs, providing a conducive environment for growth and learning.
As we embark on this journey together, I encourage each of you to make the most of this opportunity, engage wholeheartedly in your studies, and contribute to the legacy we are building. Together, we will shape a brighter future for our community and ensure that the Government Model Degree College, Diblong, becomes a cherished center of knowledge and development in Dima Hasao and beyond.
